Septic Arthritis

Septic arthritis occurs when a joint becomes infected and causes arthritis. It is normally caused by a bacterial infection, although viral, mycobacterial, and fungal infections can be responsible as well. Septic arthritis is generally treated using intravenous antibiotics.
