Optic Atrophy

Optic atrophy is the loss of some of the fibers of the optic nerve. Symptoms include a loss or distortion of vision, or discoloration of the discs in both eyes. Optic atrophy is either congenital or acquired. Since the optic nerve is part of the brain, there is no chance of regenerating lost tissue.
