Acute Viral Nasopharyngitis

Acute viral nasopharyngitis, or coryza, (the common cold) is a highly contagious, viral infection of the upper respiratory system. Common symptoms include sore throat, runny nose, congestion, fever and cough. Most of the symptoms go away after a week or two. The best way to prevent to transmission of the cold is to wash hands regularly. Treatments strictly deal with symptoms as opposed to the underlying condition.Johnvolpe 15:42, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
